The nature reserve of the IJzer estuary in Nieuwpoort, ‘De Hoge Blekker’ in Koksijde, ‘De Westhoek’ in De Panne, ‘De Blankaart’ in Woumen... these are unique pieces of nature in the vicinity of the campsite where visitors are most welcome.

Near Nieuwpoort the river IJzer flows directly into the sea. Where salt and fresh water meet, a special biotope with mudflats, salt marshes, dunes, beach and polders has developed. The IJzer estuary is 130 hectares of natural beauty where it is an ecological bustle. Per square metre some 20,000 to 30,000 benthic animals inhabit it!
