The nature reserve of the IJzer estuary in Nieuwpoort, 'De Hoge Blekker 'in Koksijde, 'De Westhoek' in De Panne, 'De Blankaart in Woumen... these are unique pieces of nature in the vicinity of the campsite where you as a visitor are very welcome.

Near Nieuwpoort the river ' De IJzer' flows directly into the sea. Where salt and fresh water meet, a special biotope with mudflats, salt marshes, dunes, beach and polders has developed. The IJzer estuary is 130 hectares of natural beauty where it is an ecological bustle. Between 20,000 and 30,000 benthic animals live in the area every square metre!
