Nieuwpoort

Dating back to 1163 and the most prominent fishing port in Belgian for centuries, this city is home to the largest marina in northern Europe.

During the First World War the famous lock complex 'De Ganzepoot' played an important role and water still plays a major role for the city of Nieuwpoort. The Monument of King Albert, a memorial from 1938, is also worth visiting in Nieuwpoort.
